Buell House is a small, personally run shop based in Québec, Canada. By placing an order you agree to the terms below. They exist so that both of us know exactly where we stand — we read them ourselves, and we keep our word.
1. Who we are & governing law
These terms and every sale are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Where the Québec Consumer Protection Act (CQLR c. P-40.1) applies to a purchase, nothing in these terms limits or waives any right it grants you; those rights prevail over anything here to the contrary.
2. Prices, currency & taxes
- Prices are listed in US dollars (USD) by default; Canadian dollar (CAD) pricing is available and converted at our posted rate, which may change without notice. The currency you select at checkout is the currency you are charged in.
- Applicable Canadian sales taxes (GST/QST/HST) are calculated and shown at checkout where required.
- Prices may change at any time without notice; the price in effect when your order is accepted is the one that applies.
3. Duties, customs & international orders
All import duties, customs fees, brokerage charges, and any taxes levied outside Canada are the buyer's sole responsibility. These amounts are set by your country's authorities, are not included in our prices or shipping charges, and are not ours to estimate or refund. If a shipment is refused or abandoned because such charges were not paid, any refund will be reduced by our shipping costs, non-recoverable fees, and any loss in value to the item.
4. Order acceptance — and our right to cancel
Your order — including any order confirmation email or payment receipt — is an offer to purchase. A contract is formed only when we accept the order by shipping the item. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse, limit, hold, or cancel any order in whole or in part at any time before shipment, including (without limitation) where:
- there is an error in the price, description, image, or availability of an item, however it arose;
- we suspect fraud, unauthorized payment, unusual purchasing patterns, or a chargeback risk;
- the payment cannot be verified, is declined, or is flagged by our payment processor;
- the shipping destination is one we do not serve, cannot insure, or where the item cannot lawfully be sent;
- the item has been lost, damaged, or was sold through another channel before your payment cleared (much of what we sell is one of a kind);
- the order appears intended for resale in a manner we have not agreed to; or
- any other circumstance where, acting in good faith, we judge the sale should not proceed.
If we cancel an order after you have paid, we will refund the full amount you paid us for that order, through the original payment method. That refund is the full extent of our responsibility for a cancelled order — to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for any other loss, cost, or disappointment arising from a cancellation.
5. Pricing & description errors
We describe every piece carefully and in good faith, but we are human. An obvious error — a misplaced decimal, a wrong grade, a photo of the wrong item, a glitch — does not bind us. Where an error is discovered before shipment we may cancel and fully refund the order, or offer you the choice of the corrected terms. Where a material description error is discovered after delivery, contact us within 14 days and we will make it right, up to and including return and full refund.
6. Collectibles are sold as described
- Items are vintage, pre-owned, or collectible unless stated otherwise, and are sold in the condition described and shown.
- Condition and grading opinions are exactly that — opinions — unless the item carries third-party certification (e.g. CGC, PCGS, PSA), in which case the certification speaks for itself.
- Photographs are part of the description. Please look at them closely and ask questions before buying.
7. Shipping, risk & insurance
- Orders ship from Québec, tracked and insured, usually within 3–5 business days of payment confirmation.
- Signature on delivery may be required for higher-value orders.
- If a parcel arrives damaged, keep all packaging and contact us within 48 hours with photos so we can pursue the insurance claim.
- Delivery estimates are estimates; carrier and customs delays are outside our control.
8. Returns
Because most of our items are unique collectibles, all sales are final except where these terms or the law provide otherwise. If an item arrives materially different from its description, contact us within 14 days of delivery: we will offer return for a full refund (we cover return shipping when the error is ours). Items must come back in the condition sent, in equivalent protective packaging. Refunds are issued to the original payment method once the item is received and inspected. Nothing in this section limits any cancellation or remedy rights you hold under the Québec Consumer Protection Act, including its distance-contract provisions.
9. Fraud prevention & verification
To protect both of us, we may ask you to verify your identity, billing address, or payment method before shipping, particularly for high-value or international orders. We may decline to ship to freight forwarders, parcel lockers, or addresses that cannot be verified, and we may restrict destinations at any time. Orders that fail verification will be cancelled and refunded. Initiating a chargeback on a legitimate, delivered order does not extinguish your obligation to pay, and we may decline future orders accordingly.
10. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Your payment information is handled under Stripe's own terms and safeguards. An order is not paid until the funds are confirmed to us by our processor.
11. Privacy, plainly
We collect only what a sale needs: your name, email, shipping address, and order history. We use it to fulfil orders, provide order lookup, and meet legal obligations — nothing else. We don't sell it, rent it, or send you marketing you didn't ask for. Payment details live with Stripe, not with us.
12. Changes & contact
